In our industry, a conservatory is a fully glazed garden room with a translucent roofing material of either glass or polycarbonate. It might be a lean-to construction or have a gable or bay end. A sunroom has a solid roof giving extra insulation and thermal efficiency so that it can be used all year. And an orangery combines the benefits of both as well as being a familiar style structure from graceful homes of the past.

This very much depends on the type of construction, the size and the nature of your plot. If we need to dig foundations to create a solid surface, that takes time. A fully-glazed conservatory can be fitted more quickly, but that’s very different to an orangery with brick or blockwork and a more complicated construction. Similarly, if guttering and drainage work is needed to extend your home safely, that takes time.

We give all our clients a detailed estimate of the time to be taken with each project proposal and you can be sure that we work efficiently to create a conservatory that will last for years.

All our service is top notch – our customers can rely on that whatever the scale of the project. But we’re happy to be flexible on the scope of our work in terms of demolishing, digging foundations, clearing the site and doing the building work as well as installing the conservatory/sunroom. Within reason (we like to know that the standards are high throughout) we’ll work with you and do the parts that you need us to do as a conservatory specialist with a building background. We can also deal with building regs, planning permission and other aspects of a project as required.

Planning rules have recently been relaxed but can still occasionally be required. Evolve can confirm this for your particular plans. Building regulations can be applied for by ourselves on your behalf where required. The Evolve team is experienced in the communication and paperwork aspects of this as well as the regulations themselves. You can rely on us to handle this aspect of your project if that’s confirmed from the start.
